DALLAS GAY BARS FREE
Join Dallas drag superstar Bleach, Dezi 5 and occasional host Kennedy Davenport for a weekly Saturday afternoon drag show at the Free Man Cafe and Lounge in Deep Ellum. Even when drag is off the menu, the space caters to SLC’s alternative crowd with a range of live events to suit almost everyone’s taste. The Free Man Deep Ellum 2626-2630, Commerce St, Dallas, TX. Round-Up was one of only a few Dallas gay bars that decided to reopen for a few weeks back in June, when Abbott allowed bars to resume service before quickly walking back that plan as COVID-19 cases spiked around the state. Hence the misterb&b experiences: share your special talent or passion with LGBTQ travelers and earn money from it Whether it’s a tour, dinners, massages, coaching or some other. According to Spectrum News, the bar obtained the new permit in early October, and is planning an imminent reopening. Leave the long Mormon garments at home, this event is more Andrew Christian than Joseph Smith.Īlthough this midsize concert venue isn’t explicitly gay, Metro hosts the city’s best drag shows (it’s the number one place to find the girls of RuPaul’s Drag Race when they’re in town). We believe exploring the world is all about making personal connections and that authentic experiences help connect more deeply with local cultures and people. The local crowd gets rowdy on the third Thursday of every month after checking their clothes for the Underwear Party. This laid-back bar is famous for cheap drinks, Thursday night karaoke, and Sunday BBQs on the patio between Mother’s Day and Labor Day. Expect live DJs, drag queens, go-go dancers, and a weekly party theme inviting you to dress up so you can get down in style. This straight lounge becomes a queer dance club once every week for Revolution Fridays. The city is chock-a-block with hip coffee shops, international food options, artistic offerings, and enough outdoor activities to make you feel you’re living in a Patagonia clothing ad. You’ll find queer folks congregating in neighborhoods like Sugar House, the Marmalade District of Capitol Hill, and in the Avenues near Temple Square, but there’s no true gayborhood of which to speak. In some ways, Salt Lake City is so gay it’s post-gay. That’s higher than both New York City and Los Angeles. A whopping 4.7 percent of the population identifies as LGBT. The same year Biskupski was elected, Gallup released a poll naming Salt Lake City the seventh gayest city in the United States. SLC is so queer-friendly that officials renamed a street in honor of the politician and gay rights activist Harvey Milk in 2016. She currently serves with three openly gay city council members: Amy Fowler, Derek Kitchen, and Chris Wharton.

In 2015, Jackie Biskupski became the city’s first openly gay mayor. Havana was the first gay bar Pintor visited back in 2008 with his then boyfriend. Nowhere is this change more pronounced than in Salt Lake’s flourishing LGBTQ+ community. Mariano Pintor poses for a photo outside of Havana Lounge on Sunday, July 4, 2021, in Dallas. We are against discrimination of any kind, and work diligently with all employees to ensure that our bar is a welcoming space for everyone to celebrate. Pick up a hand-printed map of Dallas, or a set of stamped leather coasters with a Texas motif, then find irresistible tchotchkes like a solar-powered Queen Elizabeth doing her trademark wave at Fete-ish. After reviewing the situation and gathering statements from the parties involved, the company has chosen to terminate the employee in question effective immediately. HAPPY HOUR PRICES 7 DAYS A WEEK, 12PM - 8PM Pekers was named as one of Dallas' TOP 10 GAY BARS. Head to the Bishop Arts District, another popular Dallas gayborhood where funky and chic dominate. While our employees take every measure to ensure the safety of both staff and patrons, any actions that are deemed contra to our beliefs and values as a company will not be tolerated. The bar released a statement apologizing late Thursday and said the manager has been fired: “Early this morning, we were notified of an incident that occurred at JR’s Bar & Grill last night involving a staff member and several of our patrons. Wrote Heredia: “It all felt like it stemmed from transphobia.” Daniel Heredia shared video of the disturbing incident (below), in which his transgender friend Blair was denied service and then shoved by the bouncer.
